Training: smooth communication and its importance for a team

It is quite common for communication to get stuck in a collaboration, information not reaching all team members, rivalry and tension to arise, which affects the entire team as well as customers and other important stakeholders. How to fix this?

Often the cause is assumptions, different expectations, unclear vision, missing or misunderstood communication, and sometimes a quite natural phenomenon such as a power struggle, in which each team member tries to prove themselves and strengthen their position. In addition, many people often have relatively ambitious personal (although professional) goals that may not be in line with the common goals of the team.

And that’s how collaboration suffers – if there is no honesty, respect, openness and trust in communication, then synergy is lost and good ideas cannot be born. In such an atmosphere, mistakes are kept to oneself, there is no joint learning, instead of solutions, the culprits are sought, communication is minimal, but nevertheless tense, and egos become more important than goals.

If relationships are complicated and communication is not smooth, it doesn’t matter how many of the best specialists in their field are involved – the air is thick, sometimes even toxic, there are no results, the staff is constantly changing and in the end the entire company’s reputation (at least as an employer) suffers.

If you found anything familiar in the above, your team will undoubtedly benefit from our communication training!

During the training, we will cover the following topics:

1. Psychological safety

A psychologically safe working environment is a strong foundation for a team, where members feel confident in expressing their ideas and concerns. Trust is what fosters open dialogue and cooperation. We analyze how (psychologically) safe team members feel, map the most critical indicators, and formulate agreements to improve the situation.

2. Skillful communication

It is not only the timely and relevant flow of information that is important, but also the reception or listening – are we listening just seemingly or can we really listen? Instead of assuming, we consciously learn to ask the right questions and clarify expectations. This reduces misunderstandings and tensions.

3. Feedback and agreements

The basis of effective cooperation is clear agreements (and adherence to them) and open feedback, both positive and constructive. We learn how to reach agreements and how to give and receive constructive feedback to support both the individual and team development of each member.

BONUS: Based on the issues raised and challenges identified during the training, we create a realistic action plan that the team can implement together.

As a result of the training:

  • the mutual trust between team members increases and internal tensions decrease,
  • the team spirit is strengthened and cooperation improves, mutual understanding increases,
  • team members learn to accept different perspectives,
  • team members learn to listen consciously and express your messages clearly,
  • team members receive practical tools on how to improve communication in order to create an open and trusting work environment where every employee feels heard and valued.
